Legacy Mentoring Academy Certification Program
​
Our passion is to empower people through the Legacy Mentoring Model. It is an 18 month journey. Twelve months include instruction and practical tools and experience. Once the certification is completed you will receive six-one hour mentoring sessions with the lead mentor. This 18-month journey helps you to discover your purpose and your leadership style. Once enrolled in this 18-month experience you will be equipped with the tools you need to grow as well as tools that will help you to overcome the obstacles that will hinder you in living out that purpose.
The Legacy Internship Experience
The LMA internship experience provides leaders with practical experience as a Legacy Mentoring Academy intern. Those who serve as an intern will be a part of the Legacy Mentoring Academy team. If you would like to gain practical experience serving on the LMA ministry team, contact us for more information.

Legacy Mentoring Academy Certification Program

Practical Tools
​
Only 10 students are accepted in this certification program. When you participate in a course at Legacy Mentoring Academy, you can start using what you learn right away. We believe in teaching content that is practical for life and leadership.
​
Courses will be offered online live and/or video recordings every Monday 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. CST
Minimum 8 hours per week for meetings and coursework.
Not including group project and weeks that you meet with a Mentor, Spiritual Director or a Mentee.

Living & Listening
Only 10 participants will be accepted
Our goal is to empower leaders through the expansion of knowledge and spiritual formation. Those who enroll in this course are often unaware of their own capacities, and through our courses, we intend to change that.

The first 6 months you will learn the power of your transformation as a leader through reflection, community, conversation, silence and solitude.

In the second 6 months you will grow as a leader in your context. You will learn how your personality, gifts and strengths empower you as a leader.

This course meets online once a week for 12 months. (May, June & July online course without a weekly meeting) Weekly meetings resume August - October.

Upon completion of the LMA coursework you will be required to meet with the lead mentor for one hour per month for six months.

(This will require minimum 8 hours per week for meetings and coursework. Not including group project and weeks that you meet with a Mentor, Spiritual Director or a Mentee.) Space is limited!

Learn How to Listen To Your Life
Course I- Inward Living
October 2022- April 2023
This course will empower you with practical tools for how to listen to your life. Your personal formation isn't random. It is in the everyday unfolding of your life that you are being formed, reformed and transformed. This course will guide you in discovering how you have been uniquely created as well as how to make compatible decisions with how you are are uniquely created and called. This is the first course in the 18 month Legacy Mentoring Certification program. This course meets weekly for two hours from October 2022 - April 2023 ( See the July & August Schedule) Contact us today to apply.
Learn How to Empower Others
Course II- Inward Living & Empowering Leadership
(May - July -online at your own pace work w/out a weekly meeting) August 2023 - October 2023 online weekly meetings resume
This course will provide you with practical leadership tools. You will also learn the components of the Legacy Mentoring Model You will learn your strengths and weaknesses as a leader as well as how to develop your strengths and overcome your weaknesses.
This course includes a one hour mentoring sessions in June and a one hour mentoring session in July as well as a summer leadership project. This course is the second half of the 18 month LMA certification program and will begin to meet for 2 hours per week from August 2018 - April 2019. The prerequisite for this course is Inward Living
Receive Support in Your Context
One on One Mentoring
Once you complete the course work for the LMA certification program you will be provided with six one hour mentoring sessions. Â These mentoring sessions will provide you with the support you need as you utilize the principles and the tools you learned in your context. Â At the conclusion of this course you will receive your Certification as a Legacy Mentor. Â This course has two prerequisite course: Â Inward Living and Empowering Leadership
LMA Certification Program Benefits
The LMA curriculum will provide leaders with practical leadership tools. You will learn the components of the Legacy Mentoring Model for both individuals and groups. You will learn your strengths and weaknesses as a leader as well as learn ways to turn your weaknesses into strengths.

At the conclusion of the LMA experiences all participants will be equipped to lead and mentor others in a way that is safe and empowering. You will also be a part of building a community of leaders who are learners, trustworthy and empowering. You will be a Certified Legacy Mentor.
​
As a certified Mentor through LMA you will also be eligible to serve on LMA's team as a mentor.
This would be a paid role.
Personalized Attention
Leaders Need Listeners
LMA Certification Program participants will receive the benefit of meeting with the lead mentor one one one for six one hour sessions. (This is included in the LMA tuition) LMA mentees will be required to meet with a Spiritual Director two one hour sessions while attending the LMA. (This is not included in the LMA tuition)
Weekly 2 hour Retreats
Building Leaders thru Community
LMA Certification Program participants will attend a weekly two hour online retreats. These weekly retreats will include transformational teaching and discussion.
Transformational Learning
High Commitment = High Capacity Leadership

LMA Certification Program participants will read approximately 2 books per month. Complete 2 brief writing assignments related to the reading. Complete one reflection paper per month (250-500 words).
Mentoring Others
Mentoring A Legacy

Participants will be required to be a Mentor and meet w/that person 1 x per month for no less than one hour. (This is required during Course II)

Leading Others
Leading a Legacy
Each participant will be required to lead a group project. (This is required in Course II)

Legacy Mentoring Academy is passionate about making a significant and long-lasting impact, and Joycelyn Lewis is no exception. As a leadership development coach and mentor, Joycelyn can help you, your congregation or organization discover ways to help you fulfill your purpose. Joycelyn's exceptional gift at problem solving, her pragmatic wisdom, resources, experience, training and gravitas will help you identify both your problems and strengths as a leader, congregation or organization.

Joycelyn graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and also holds a Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation and a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary. She is certified in Formative Spirituality and is a trained Personal Development Coach and a
Certified Executive Coach thru the CAPP Institute.
She is married to Wendell, has a daughter, a son and a future daughter-n-love.
She also has one grandson, a granddaughter and eight goddaughters.
